COVID-19 Updates

March 31, 2020

Dear Parents & Caretakers,

Following the Federal Government’s extension of social distancing guidelines, Governor DeWine extended the closure of all Ohio schools through Friday, May 1st. The action was taken to continue slowing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). For this reason, our school remains closed and our target date to re-open campus is Monday, May 4th.

Your child’s continued learning is important to us, and we know it is to you as well. We are working diligently on a plan that allows all students to continue learning at home. There are a number of distant learning options, and we are working with school leaders to determine the best approach for each school community.

We are committed to supporting your child and your family through this challenging time. We will soon provide an update about your school’s learning plan for the extended closure. It will include more structured guidance and expectations for teachers and students, and support for parents. Until then, please encourage your child to complete any learning resources provided by the school and access some of the engaging activities on your school website and Facebook page. Most of all, take care of yourself and your family.

Sincerely,

ACCEL Schools Administration

Dear Inspire Families,

Good afternoon! I hope you all are staying healthy and safe during this time. I am sure that most of you have heard the news that Governor DeWine shared this afternoon. He has extended the school closure break until May 1st. We want you to all know that we are here for you and will work through challenges that you face as they arise. Our teachers will be working on creating packets for next week that are filled with resources and high-quality activities. Our teachers are also creating video lessons for you to view to help master these key skills. Please take advantage of these online lessons and resources if you have access to technology. Our Spring Break is still April 10th- April 17th. When we return from Spring Break, our goal will be to move over to our E-Learning Canvas platform. We are still finalizing exactly what this looks like logistically so please be patient as we solidify this plan. There are a lot of moving pieces with transitioning students over to an online platform and we want to make sure all the tailored supports are in place. I want to thank you for answering our technology questions last week. It is crucial that we know what technology support is needed in our community. We are offering a few options for picking up the packets for next week. On Friday (April 3rd), we will have a “grab and go” service from 10-12 pm. If you can pick up your packet on Friday, please feel free to come pick one up. If you are unable to stop by, we will mail your packet out Friday. We will also have an online version of each packet for you to view. Please communicate with your child’s teacher directly and let them know what option you will be taking advantage of. Please continue to reach out to us for support and know that we are all in this together.

Sincerely,

Mr. Hawk
Principal

Dear Parents & Caretakers,

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we work through these unprecedented times as a community. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, our school is closed to students and the public until Monday, April 6th. At this time, it remains unclear if we will be able to re-open on that date or if the closure will be extended. In either case, learning will continue, and we will provide an update next week.

As educators, we miss seeing our students every day and are concerned for their well-being during this confusing time. Most importantly, we care about their safety and therefore support the government orders and recommendations that have been made to slow the spread of this disease in our community. We also salute you, as parents and caretakers, for the extra time, resources, and protection that you are giving your children during this time. We want you to know that our teachers are working from home and available to support and encourage you. If you would like to get in touch with a teacher, you can find a staff directory on our school website or send us a message through our school website’s Contact page which we will forward to your child’s teacher.

We as educators, along with you as parents, have many more questions that have yet to be answered, and we will continue to be in touch with you as the April 6th date approaches. COVID-19 Update

March 16, 2020

Dear Inspire Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for being understanding and flexible as we receive Coronavirus updates from Governor DeWine. Governor DeWine announced an order yesterday to close all K-12 school buildings across the state for three weeks at least through April 3rd. This pandemic is ever-changing so please continue to follow our posts on Facebook as well as Class Dojo. Inspire Elementary will continue to monitor the development of COVID-19 and will plan accordingly.

Inspire Elementary will be closed starting March 16th – April 3rd. We will be back in session on April 6th. All field trips, parent advisory meetings, and other activities have been cancelled. Picture day will be rescheduled, and we will share more information once we have a date set.

Inspire will continue our food services during this three-week break. We will have a “drive through service” that you can use each day to pick up breakfast and lunch. This will be open Monday-Friday 10:00-11:00 am. Please pull into our entrance and remain in your vehicle. We will have staff members outside ready to serve the food. Please feel free to use this service and come grab some yummy food.

There have been many questions about our Spring Break here at Inspire. As of now, we will keep our Spring Break dates and I will let you all know if anything changes.

Every student will be going home with an academic packet full of resources and activities that they can work on during this break. Our students have been working diligently so we want to continue seeing the progress our students have been making. These packets are not mandatory but will really help support your child’s growth. Our teachers will be available each day from 9-3 pm to help you with any questions you may have about the activities. Please use Class Dojo to reach out to our teachers.

Thank you again for your support and we will continue to share new information once we receive it.

Sincerely,

Mr. Hawk
